mStreet — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 12 July 2026
mStreet ("the app") is a simple utility app for Android that shows the street you are on and places near you. This policy explains what data the app uses and where it goes.
Location
The app uses your device's location (GPS) only after you grant the Android location permission, and only while you are using the app. Your coordinates are used to display your position and are sent to the OpenStreetMap lookup services — Nominatim (reverse geocoding) and the Overpass API — to find street names, intersections, and nearby places. These requests contain coordinates only; no name, account, advertising ID, or other identifier is attached. These services are operated by third parties; see the OpenStreetMap Foundation's privacy policy at https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy.
Saved places
Places you bookmark are stored in a local database on your device only. They are never uploaded to us or anyone else by the app. Uninstalling the app deletes them. If you use Android's standard device backup, your saved places may be included in your device's Google backup like any other app data.
What we don't do
The app has no user accounts, no ads, no analytics, no trackers, and no servers of its own. We do not collect, sell, or share personal data.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
Any changes to this policy will be posted at this page.
